STW stands for Stainless Tube Welding, and the name itself makes it clear: their clientele comes from all over the world. Clients from near and far rely on this certified welding company from Nördlingen and its expertise in stainless steel plant construction. Their customers include companies from the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and cosmetics industries, as well as mechanical engineering. "People will always need to eat and drink," says commercial director Thomas Feldmeier with a wink – which ensures that employees here have excellent career prospects.

STW GmbH was founded in 2000 and became a certified training company in 2006. Currently, the team includes five apprentices and comprises a total of 70 employees aged between 16 and 62. The company's long-term focus is further demonstrated by the addition of Paul Slavik, son of Managing Director Georg Slavik, who will play a key role in guiding the company's future. STW GmbH has been recognized as a TOP Employer in the DONAURIES region primarily due to its exceptional commitment to training, environmental awareness, and health promotion.

Electric cars for company loyalty!

At STW, e-mobility was already a topic of discussion when it was still considered a niche subject elsewhere. "E-mobility has been established and promoted within the company for several years now," reports Managing Director Georg Slavik. "Long-term employees have the option of choosing an electric car as part of their compensation package. Charging stations have been installed on the premises for several years." The company also uses hybrid vehicles when switching between short and long journeys is necessary.

After four years with the company, employees also benefit from a special health program, and STW provides company-sponsored health insurance. This insurance is expanded with an additional component after 10 years of service. But overall, a healthy work environment plays a key role here every single day.

To ensure trainees feel well supported from the very beginning, STW GmbH invests in excellent training quality and assists with exam preparation through external training courses. "Our trainees consistently achieve top results with good grades and awards," reports Slavik. This makes the apprenticeships highly sought after. Georg Slavik recounts a particularly memorable application: "One of the most memorable experiences was when a long-time employee and construction manager came by with his wife and their newborn son, who was just 12 weeks old. He proudly introduced him and immediately put him on the waiting list for an apprenticeship starting in 2037." – "That was the earliest interview in STW's history and demonstrated the high level of employee retention and loyalty to the company," says Slavik.

Interesting for young and old

“We involve our young employees and trainees in challenging tasks early on,” explains Slavik. “The training is of a very high professional standard, and we encourage and demand both professional and personal performance, as this is the only way to develop into a skilled worker. At the same time, we offer the opportunity not only to gain experience at our main plant in Nördlingen, but also to gain insights into the beverage and food industries through maintenance and assembly assignments, which are part of our onboarding and training plan.”

Both new and experienced employees have ample opportunity to learn and develop. Thomas Feldmeier confirms: "We offer a broad and diverse range of tasks in the manufacturing, expansion, conversion, and maintenance of stainless steel systems in pipeline, tank, and apparatus construction within a crisis-proof environment and with excellent future prospects."
